Each year, the Foundation selects a different immigrant group to salute at its Annual Benefit. Outstanding representatives of the selected nationality are honored for the major contributions they have made to America. Honorees are chosen from a wide spectrum of fields including the arts, sciences, business, and education. This year's gala will focus on Cuban Americans. The evening’s award ceremony will recognize the contributions of the following individuals: Cesar Alvarez, President and CEO of Greenberg Traurig, LLP; Jorgé Benach, Professor and Director, Center of Infectious Diseases, State University of New York at Stony Brook; Lourdes Lopez, Executive Director, Morphoses, New York, NY; and Esther Olavarria, General Counsel to Senator Edward P. Kennedy. George Diaz, of the Orlando Sentinel, will host the evening as Master of Ceremonies.

All proceeds from the event directly support the Foundation's ongoing mission of increasing public understanding of the value of immigration to American society and to advancing fundamental fairness and due process under the law for immigrants. The Foundation's programs include: The Legal Action Center, which works through the courts to correct unfair immigration rules, The Immigration Policy Center, which conducts research and analyses about the effects of immigration on the nation and, The Curriculum Center, which develops tools for educators to teach schoolchildren about America's heritage as a nation of immigrants and , The Exchange Visitor Program, which creates educational resources and opportunities that recognize our immigrant heritage.
