David W. Haines, Ph.D.

David Haines is a professor of anthropology at George Mason University and the co-president elect of the Association for the Anthropology of Policy. He is the editor of several books on refugees in the United States and author of Safe Haven? A History of Refugees in America. Prior to his academic career, he worked for the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement and was on the community board for the Richmond Diocese refugee resettlement program. He has also published extensively on Asian migration.
